About The Position

Morgan Stanley's Municipal Securities Division, specifically the Syndicate / Debt Capital Markets team, is seeking an Associate to focus on marketing new municipal issues to clients and internal stakeholders to expand distribution and investor connectivity. The role involves designing and implementing data-driven approaches for new issue structures, pricing, and tracking investor feedback. The Associate will gain exposure to underwriting and structuring activities, including marketing and execution of municipal new issue deals, and will collaborate with Public Finance investment bankers, risk functions, issuers, investors, sales, and trading professionals.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree
Developed understanding of the municipal market
Experience in municipal public finance, debt capital markets, or another applicable structured finance/fixed income role
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and verbal
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and simultaneously manage multiple high priority projects

Nice To Haves

Experience with programming languages such as Python or VBA are a plus

Responsibilities

Provide analytical, quantitative, and operational support for executing bespoke financing structures.
Develop and maintain marketing materials for existing and new product offerings, reflecting current market conditions.
Collaborate with Public Finance bankers and the salesforce to identify client needs and design appropriate structures.
Develop and participate in presentations to municipal and not-for-profit borrowers, as well as domestic and international institutional investors.
Work and collaborate with other syndicate desks at Morgan Stanley and externally.
