About The Position

We are looking for an individual who is excited to join a fast paced and rapidly growing practice at Northwestern Mutual at Docklight Financial. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can easily prioritize in a high-volume environment, has a high enthusiasm for learning, and is an effective communicator. Specific duties include client meetings, financial planning preparation, account monitoring, assist team with client onboarding and helping the firm grow by identifying new opportunities and new client acquisition.

Requirements

  • Life, Accident & Health Insurance licenses
  • Series 7 & 63
  • 2-3 years of financial planning experience (Northwestern Mutual & advisory sales experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance and/or related industry experience
  • Advisory services and broker/dealer experience with demonstrated investment knowledge and understanding of markets, products, platforms, and services
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to coach and communicate highly complex planning strategies effectively to clients
  • Ability to adapt to change and identify process improvements
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to professional development (CFP, ChFC, CLU, WMCP, RICP)

Responsibilities

  • Architect financial plans, agendas and recommendations
  • Prepare and design case prep for financial planning meetings
  • Work collaboratively as a team on strategic planning for clients
  • Attend client meetings jointly
  • Handle strategic client questions directly and help decision making for specific client scenarios
  • Monitor and review portfolios and be part of the investment committee
  • Meet with wholesalers and vendors
  • Assist in growth of firm and client acquisition including taking the lead on certain client segment base overtime
  • Assist with direct and indirect marketing efforts
  • Engage in 401k book of business and servicing 401k and employee enrollments
  • Effectively communicate with the team, prioritizing time-sensitive tasks
  • Monitor multiple systems to ensure successful, compliant, and service-orientated client experience
  • Assist team in staying compliant with industry regulations and company policies by maintaining proper client file documentation
  • Drive a planning culture within the office and align resources with the company planning philosophy.
  • Develop a learning path to advance product and industry knowledge.
