About The Position

GKY, part of True Environmental and its partner firms, is a consulting firm providing environmental and engineering services. The Associate Water Resources Engineer will manage and perform engineering duties for water resources projects, most of which support municipal clients throughout Virginia. The position combines hands-on engineering work with project management and offers an opportunity for professional growth.

The organization has more than 700 professionals and operates in over 25 offices across the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, including coursework in water resources such as hydrology and hydraulics.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using SWMM, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to pass a DMV record check, and insurability.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with 2D SWMM modeling.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Dependability, responsibility, and good communication skills.
• Experience with FEMA floodplain management.
• Experience with Virginia Dam Safety requirements and O&M certification.
• Experience with mapping and data analysis using ArcGIS.
• Experience with contract and task order management.
• Experience with client service management.
• Experience working with Virginia municipalities.
