About The Position

ESPN Creative Studio is a unit within the Content division of ESPN, comprising Motion Graphics, Edit, Visual Storytelling, Production Enhancements and Innovations, Creative Operations, and the Music group. Positions within Creative Studio include Video Editors, Post Editors, Producer Editors, Sound Designers, Graphic Designers, Project Managers and Art Directors, etc. We are the go-to destination to conceptualize, develop, and execute content creation across all domestic and international ESPN distribution platforms. The Associate Editor is an entry‑level role within ESPN Creative Studio, supporting Creative Daily Editorial or Creative Post Editorial. This role is focused on developing foundational video editing skills, applying established workflows, and contributing reliably to team-based production in a fast‑paced environment. The Associate Editor performs routine assignments, works within standardized procedures, and builds technical competence through structured, hands-on experience and guidance from more senior video editors.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of editing or related experience.
• Working knowledge of non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid, Edius, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite applications (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Basic understanding of broadcast video and audio quality standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to follow direction and perform effectively within a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven production environment.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and adjusted schedules as required by production needs.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of non-linear and social media production workflows.
• Knowledge of PC and/or Mac operating systems.
• Bilingual (written and spoken) in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and structured editing assignments using non‑linear editing software in support of daily or postproduction content needs in a fast-paced production environment.
• Edits content in accordance with existing procedures, naming conventions, SOPs, and high-quality standards.
• Conducts basic quality control checks and makes standard corrective adjustments to ensure all created content meets ESPN’s high standards.
• Communicates clearly with editors, producers, and partners to ensure success of assignments and accomplishments.
• Works collaboratively within the Edit team and follows direction to meet assigned deadlines and production objectives.
• Participates in assigned training and development opportunities to build technical skills, workflow knowledge, and creative proficiency.
