BranchED seeks an Associate Vice President of Finance & Accounting (AVPFA) who will build, manage, and support highly effective talent, culture and financial systems at a rapidly growing nonprofit organization with over 25 employees who are committed to shifting the life outcomes of America’s young people by ensuring that they have culturally competent quality educators. This position will play a critical role in standardizing our existing systems, policies and procedures to improve and effectively manage BranchED’s finances. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will manage the Grants and Contracts Manager and an outsourced accounting resource to support a sound compliance driven internal control environment. The AVPFA will collaborate across the organization with programming teams, work closely with members of the executive team to lead, support high-priority strategic initiatives and the overall day-to-day financial operations for the organization. The AVPFA is responsible for leading all financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, guiding strategic financial planning, and supporting executive decision-making to maintain the organization’s financial health. The AVPFA oversees the organization’s accounting and financial functions, guides the budgeting processes, creates long-term financial plans, and works collaboratively with the COO and stakeholders (internal/external) to prudently manage the organization’s resources and ensure a sound internal control environment. Reporting to the COO, the AVPFA will work collaboratively across the organization with the CEO, Executive leadership, and the organization leaders and team members as appropriate.
