About The Position

The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services (AVPES) serves as a senior leader within the Division of Student Success and provides strategic leadership for the University's enrollment operations and student-facing administrative services. The AVPES is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive enrollment service strategies that enhance recruitment, admissions processing, registration, student aid delivery, student records management, orientation, dual enrollment, academic advising, student support services, and customer service excellence. The AVPES works collaboratively across academic and administrative units to support the University's enrollment, retention, persistence, and graduation goals while ensuring a seamless student experience from prospect through graduation and leading into employment. The Associate Vice President reports directly to the Vice President for Student Success.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree from an accredited institution with preference given to background in higher education, educational leadership, business administration, public administration or related field.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in enrollment management, student services, higher education administration, or a related field. Preference given for experience at the AVP or Vice President level.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex administrative operations.
  • Experience supervising professional staff and managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of enrollment management principles, student information systems, and higher education regulations.
  • Ability to travel, work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Strategic planning and organizational leadership.
  • Enrollment management and student success best practices.
  • Data analysis and evidence-based decision making.
  • Budget development and resource allocation.
  • Project management and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic enrollment service initiatives aligned with the University's enrollment and student success goals.
  • Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and student satisfaction across enrollment-related functions.
  • Establish measurable goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and assessment practices for enrollment services operations.
  • Support institutional planning efforts through data-informed decision making and enrollment analytics.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for: Office of Undergraduate Recruitment, Office of Credential Services and Transcript Operations, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Student Financial Aid, Office of Scholarships, Office of Orientation, Office of University Connection, Office of Military & Veteran Services, Office of Academic Success & Student Success Initiatives (includes Learning Support Services, Advising, and the Louisiana Educate Program).
  • Champion a student-centered service model that prioritizes accessibility, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline enrollment processes and reduce barriers to student enrollment and progression.
  • Implement customer relationship management strategies to improve communication with prospective and current students.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence throughout Enrollment Services.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, Board of Regents, and University policies and regulations.
  • Oversee policy development and implementation related to enrollment services functions.
  • Manage budgets, personnel, and resources effectively.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives utilizing technology and automation solutions.
  • Monitor enrollment trends, application pipelines, yield rates, registration activity, and student progression metrics.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Vice President for Student Success and University leadership.
  • Collaborate with Institutional Research to develop enrollment forecasts and strategic analyses.
  • Work closely with academic colleges, student services units, and administrative offices to support institutional enrollment and retention goals.
  • Develop partnerships with K-12 schools, community colleges, and community organizations.
  • Represent the University at professional organizations, conferences, and community events.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate directors and senior staff within Enrollment Services.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
  • Support professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Success.
