The AVP for Academic Affairs Operations and Planning is responsible for driving the vision, management and enhancement of operational excellence across the division of Academic Affairs. This individual will serve as a key advisor to the Provost in driving a service-oriented organization that is able to execute expeditiously and continuously improve. The AVP will oversee operations, planning and communications for Academic Affairs and support the creation and execution of policies and procedures, collaborating with key stakeholders across the University of Miami (University). This individual oversees the day-to-day operations of key programs and initiatives in Academic Affairs, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services under the purview of the Provost. The AVP will play a critical role in supporting the University’s academic mission providing operational excellence, and interfacing with key leaders within the University. The role requires strong leadership and operational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the institution. The role also requires the stabilization, turnaround, and ongoing improvement of critical functions within the enterprise and supports the Provost in strategically aligning funds and staffing resources with institutional priorities.
