About The Position

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Human Resources Officer for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center provides strategic leadership and direction to all facets of human resources management, compliance management, and payroll in all components of the University and its campuses/branches. This position works closely with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Faculty and Student Affairs to ensure oversight and management of faculty hiring and related support. This position directs the management of the various component activities of the University’s Human Resources Department, Office of Compliance, and Payroll, ensuring that all programs and initiatives are integrated and effective in supporting the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the institution. The Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Human Resources Officer directly participates in institutional planning and decision making as a member of the University’s Leadership Council and provides broad administrative leadership and coordination to the University Administration Division as designated by the Executive Vice Chancellor. To enhance institutional administrative functions and to strengthen the overall University and its impact, has a key responsibility for achieving the University’s mission of Healthy Tennesseans and Thriving Communities by identifying gaps and prioritizing areas for streamlining, integrating and improving administrative systems and processes, to provide coordinated, efficient, and high-quality services.
