About The Position

GreenTree Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced DVM with a passion for surgery and a desire to grow within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys hands-on surgery, is committed to practicing high-quality medicine, and is excited to continue developing their clinical skillset alongside a supportive team. Our practice has been serving the Libertyville community for over 20 years, utilizing modern technology and state-of-the-art veterinary techniques. We are an AAHA accredited animal hospital committed to providing veterinary excellence. Our practice is a well-equipped, multi-doctor hospital offering a full range of services including wellness care, advanced diagnostics, dentistry, and both routine and complex surgical procedures. We have a diverse caseload including dogs, cats, birds, and exotics. Our team is skilled, supportive, and collaborative, valuing communication, mentorship, and a positive work environment. Requirements

DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
