About The Position

Los Lunas Animal Clinic is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our established veterinary practice in Los Lunas, New Mexico. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys the variety of small animal general practice, building lasting client relationships, and caring for patients throughout every stage of life. You'll have the opportunity to practice well-rounded companion animal medicine, including wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, diagnostics, surgery, and same-day or urgent cases. Our hospital serves a diverse community and offers veterinarians the flexibility to develop a caseload around their individual strengths and clinical interests. For doctors interested in expanding beyond companion animal medicine, our broader capabilities include equine and livestock care, with dedicated equine facilities including a full equine surgery suite. We're looking for a veterinarian who is comfortable managing a general practice caseload and values collaboration, strong client communication, and quality patient care. Requirements

DVM or VMD degree
Active New Mexico veterinary license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
Successful completion of the NAVLE
Ability to independently manage a general practice caseload
Commitment to providing high-quality veterinary medicine and compassionate patient care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with clients
Collaborative approach to working with veterinary technicians, assistants, fellow doctors, and hospital leadership
Interest in continued learning and professional development

Nice To Haves

Experience in small animal general practice or companion animal medicine
Interest in wellness, preventive medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, diagnostics, or soft tissue surgery
Comfort managing routine wellness, sick-patient, and same-day appointments
Interest in urgent care cases

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive medical care while developing the areas of veterinary medicine that interest you most.
Manage a caseload that may include: small animal wellness and preventive care, canine and feline medicine, puppy, kitten, adult, and senior pet care, internal medicine and chronic disease management, sick and same-day appointments, urgent care cases during regular hospital hours, diagnostic workups and case management, soft tissue surgery, spay and neuter procedures, dentistry and oral health, client education and preventive health planning.
Engage in collaborative case discussions with fellow veterinarians and support staff.
Build strong client relationships, manage cases from initial presentation through treatment and follow-up.
Develop clinical interests that keep veterinary medicine interesting.
