About The Position

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is hiring an Associate Veterinarian for its multi-species general practice in Windham, New Hampshire. The hospital is AAHA-accredited and the 2024 AAHA Practice of the Year. About half of the caseload is avian and exotic, alongside traditional companion-animal medicine. The veterinarian will work with cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, pocket pets, and amphibians. The Associate Veterinarian will practice across a varied caseload with support from a collaborative Customer Experience Team, technicians, and veterinary assistants trained in multi-species care. The role includes mentorship from experienced colleagues, support from a Medical Director, and access to specialists including a boarded surgeon, cardiologist, and two traveling internists. The schedule is four 10-hour days, Monday through Friday, with no weekends and a three-day weekend each week. A personal assistant checks appointments in and out and monitors task lists; the veterinarian focuses on exams, diagnostics, treatment plans, surgery, and dentals. The hospital closes two hours per week for rounds, training, and team development. The hospital describes its culture as Conscious Care®, focused on compassion for the individual, team, clients, patients, and community.
