About The Position

Meyer Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team in Cadillac, MI. This practice emphasizes high-quality veterinary care and exceptional customer service, offering a wide range of services including preventative care, surgery, and dental care, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The clinic fosters a collaborative environment with experienced and approachable colleagues, providing real mentorship for new graduates and early-career DVMs. A supportive staff with a 2:1 tech-to-DVM ratio allows veterinarians to focus on medicine. The clinic boasts a positive culture with a low turnover rate, where team members help each other, respect individual approaches, and create a calm environment. The facility is equipped with 6 exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, digital radiography, ultrasound, therapy and surgical lasers, and an in-house lab. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, with rotating Saturdays from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, and no on-call duties. Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
