About The Position

Cavan Hills Veterinary Services is seeking an associate veterinarian with varied experience, from new graduates up, to join their team. This role is flexible in supporting patients from wellness, through emergencies, and onward. The veterinarian can choose how much of each area of expertise they would like to focus on, or a little bit of everything. The clinic is currently rolling out a palliative care initiative and routinely sees exotic animals, some as large as tigers and kangaroos. The clinic is located in central-eastern Ontario, 20 kilometers southwest of the city of Peterborough.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving veterinary practices and technologies.
• Capability to handle a variety of cases and situations with composure and professionalism.
• Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with clients.
• Effective communication skills for client relationship management and education.
• Composure during challenging situations.
• Empathy for animals and their owners.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Rapid diagnostic and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support patients through wellness, emergencies, and end-of-life care.
• Potentially work with exotic animals, including large species like tigers and kangaroos.
