About The Position

La Costa Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join their close-knit team in Carlsbad, CA. This practice emphasizes meaningful client relationships, thoughtful medicine, and a supportive team environment. The hospital is a small, established practice with a loyal clientele that values veterinarians who listen, educate, and dedicate time to pet care. Doctors typically see 4-5 patients per day with 30-60 minute appointments, allowing for thorough medical practice. The hospital is equipped with 3 exam rooms, a surgical suite, digital and dental X-ray, in-house and reference lab services, therapeutic laser, electrocautery, EzyVet, day-patient kennels, and isolation space, with strong referral partnerships for advanced care. Clients are engaged and willing to pursue advanced treatments when thoughtfully explained. The team includes RVTs and Fear Free-certified DVMs, with an approximate 1:3 doctor-to-technician/assistant ratio. The practice believes in balancing veterinary medicine with work-life balance, offering no after-hours or on-call requirements. New graduates are welcome and will receive one-on-one surgical training, dedicated consultation time, and support in developing clinical and surgical confidence. Experienced veterinarians can build lasting client relationships while practicing with a supportive team.

Requirements
