Associate Veterinarian
About The Position
Dixie Animal Hospital is a privately owned, thriving small animal clinic in Vandalia that was recently expanded and remodeled in 2021. The hospital hosts a team of 5 doctors and over 25 staff members, led by two owner doctors who prioritize supporting their staff and fostering a positive work environment. Each doctor is paired with an assistant to help with medical notes and client communication. Full-time doctors typically work around 32 hours per week, spread over 3.5-4 days. The schedule includes 90-minute lunches and a rotation for Saturday mornings, with each doctor scheduled for only one Saturday morning per month.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Willingness to perform surgery or possess an internist skillset.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a small animal clinic.
- Proficiency with ultrasound, laser therapy, digital radiography, or acupuncture.
Responsibilities
- Perform veterinary medical procedures.
- Assist with client communication.
