About The Position

Animal Medical & Surgical Hospital is looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join their growing team. They are an established two-location small animal practice committed to providing exceptional medicine while creating a supportive, welcoming environment for their team, clients, and pets. This role is suitable for experienced veterinarians looking for a new team or early-career doctors ready to build confidence and clinical skills. The hospital believes great veterinary medicine happens when doctors have the support, mentorship, resources, and autonomy to take excellent care of their patients. As an Associate Veterinarian, you will have the opportunity to see a diverse small animal caseload while working alongside an experienced and collaborative veterinary team. Teamwork is valued, and the support staff plays an important role in delivering excellent patient care. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and their pets while developing your own clinical interests and expertise. A structured mentorship program is available for early-career veterinarians to help new graduates transition confidently into practice with guidance from experienced veterinary professionals. Experienced veterinarians will find opportunities to expand their skills, pursue clinical interests, and contribute their knowledge to the team.

Requirements

  • A DVM or VMD graduate from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • Licensed to practice in Oklahoma or eligible for Oklahoma licensure
  • NAVLE certified
  • Compassionate and passionate about patient care
  • A strong communicator who enjoys connecting with clients
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Comfortable trusting and working alongside veterinary technicians and support staff
  • Interested in developing their skills in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, or other areas of interest
  • Committed to lifelong learning
  • Positive, dependable, and eager to contribute to a great hospital culture

Nice To Haves

  • Experience is preferred, but not required. New graduates and early-career veterinarians are welcome!

Responsibilities

  • Performing comprehensive physical examinations and developing individualized treatment plans
  • Diagnosing and managing a variety of medical conditions
  • Providing preventive and wellness care
  • Performing soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
  • Developing anesthesia and pain-management plans
  • Utilizing digital radiography and ultrasonography to support patient diagnosis
  • Educating clients on preventive care and long-term health
  • Building lasting relationships with pets and their families
  • Collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate medical records
  • Continuing to grow your knowledge and clinical skills through CE and mentorship
