About The Position

Homestead Veterinary Hospital is seeking an immediate, experienced Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join our multi-doctor mixed animal practice in Villa Ridge, Missouri. We’re looking for a compassionate, team-oriented veterinarian with strong communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional care to small animal patients and their families. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine in a collaborative and supportive environment while having access to the resources of a well-established mixed animal hospital. Homestead Veterinary Hospital is a 6-doctor practice serving a diverse caseload of approximately: 70% Equine, 25% Small Animal, 5% Small Ruminant. While HVH is well known for its equine services, our small animal department continues to grow and operates separately, allowing our veterinarians to focus on providing dedicated companion animal care. Our 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility includes: Modern exam and treatment areas, Digital radiography & ultrasound, In-house laboratory, Advanced surgical and dental capabilities, CO₂ & therapeutic laser, Endoscopy, Dedicated support staff and RVTs. We take pride in offering advanced diagnostics and treatments, including: Wellness and preventive care, Soft tissue surgery, Dentistry, Diagnostic imaging, Internal medicine, In-house diagnostics, Laser therapy, Emergency and urgent care support, Client education and long-term patient management.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Active Missouri veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to client service
  • Team-oriented mindset and desire to practice high-quality medicine

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in small animal medicine preferred

  • Providing exceptional care to small animal patients and their families.
