About The Position
Gander Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The ideal candidate is energetic, compassionate, and thrives in a family-oriented practice where the atmosphere is professional and easy-going. The clinic is a full-service, companion animal veterinary practice that has been serving Gander and surrounding areas of central Newfoundland for over 30 years. They offer a range of services for cats, dogs, exotic animals, and other companion animals, including surgical and medical services, dental care, and pet wellness. The hospital is equipped with ultrasound, a surgical suite, digital x-ray, and laser therapy. Diagnostic services are performed in-house, allowing for same-day blood results.
Requirements
- Licensed (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Willingness to perform surgery
- Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills, both when dealing with clients and team members
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year experience (preferred)
- Experience with exotics (a bonus)
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical and medical services
- Provide dental care
- Offer pet wellness services
- Conduct preventative care and regular exams
- Perform surgical procedures
- Conduct diagnostic services including X-rays and in-house lab work
- Educate and build solid relationships with clients
- Work collaboratively with team members
