About The Position

Belmont Veterinary Center, a proud CareVet partner, is looking for a compassionate, full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their thriving small-animal practice in Lincoln, Nebraska. The role involves a full-time schedule averaging 35-40 hours per week, with the opportunity to build lasting client relationships and provide high-quality, personalized medical care. The veterinarian will collaborate with experienced doctors, technicians, and support staff in a team-oriented environment. Belmont Veterinary Center is a full-service veterinary facility offering comprehensive preventative, medical, surgical, and dental care, in-house diagnostics and laboratory services, grooming and daycare services, boarding facilities, special/prescription diets and nutritional counseling, and onsite and online pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
