Associate Veterinarian - General Practice ; Ithaca NY
About The Position
VCA Colonial Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to complement our talented GP team in Ithaca, New York. At VCA Colonial, our practice is the perfect mix of general medicine and specialty services. As a GP vet, you will always have visibility into your cases that may need to go to specialty or ER, as well as the ability to hospitalize as needed. Specialties currently offered include surgery, oncology, internal medicine, radiology, and behavior. Our 16,000 square foot hospital is fully equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, therapeutic laser, in-house laboratory, and CT. We are a 17 doctor practice with a large support team that includes over 30 Licensed Technicians and Assistants. We are open seven days a week, and provide 24 hour hospitalized patient care. For General Practice, our hours of operation do not require overnight doctor shifts. We have a great group of veterinarians who support each other and work well as a team.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in New York.
- Experience in general practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with surgery, oncology, internal medicine, radiology, or behavior.
- Proficiency with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, therapeutic laser, in-house laboratory, and CT.
- Experience in a 17-doctor practice with a large support team.
Responsibilities
- Provide general medicine and specialty services.
- Manage cases that may require specialty or ER consultation.
- Hospitalize patients as needed.
- Provide 24-hour hospitalized patient care.
