About The Position

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking an Associate Traffic Engineer to work in their Haddon Heights, NJ office. This role involves assisting with complex traffic engineering tasks on highway and bridge projects, leading traffic studies and highway occupancy permits, and designing signing and pavement markings. The position also includes assisting with the development of Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing, Traffic Control Plans, Management Plans (TMP), Traffic Impact Studies (TIS), ADA Design, Curb Ramp Design, and NJDOT Access Management, TSM&O, and Complete Streets Initiatives. Additionally, the role involves assisting with project cost estimates and specifications, providing technical guidance to staff, and developing client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 4-8 years of work experience
  • Experience with traffic-related software packages (Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA)
  • Experience with NJDOT and similar public sector clients (Counties, Cities, Townships)
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Microstation
  • Highway Capacity Software
  • Synchro/SimTraffic

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree a plus
  • Experience with InRoads and AutoCAD a plus
  • Construction consultation and utility coordination experience a plus
  • PE license
  • PTOE desirable

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with complex traffic engineering tasks with other staff on highway and bridge projects.
  • Leading and developing traffic studies and highway occupancy permits.
