About The Position

As an Associate, Negotiator within our Global Credit – Trading Documentation team, you will be responsible for negotiating various types of trading documentation related to global capital markets trading platforms while ensuring all agreements adhere to RBC policy documents and that appropriate approvals have been obtained for all deviations from RBC policy.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets products and the trading environment
  • Strong understanding of risk issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle significant and diverse workload
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with facility agreements and/or facility-linked swap documentation advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard master agreements (ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, etc) and various counterparty types (banks, corporates, funds, etc)
  • Experience negotiating FBF and/or Deutsche Rahmenvertrag advantageous but not essential.
  • Legal qualifications/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates various industry-standard and, with the Law Group, non-standard master trading agreements, including complex and/or structured trading agreements and ancillary documents.
  • Negotiates and reviews regulation-driven documentation, particularly VM and IM agreements.
  • Coordinates, in conjunction with the Law Group and other team members, changes and updates to RBC master agreement templates and the management of these templates
  • Ensures compliance with RBC policy documents for all trading documentation.
  • Ensures appropriate internal systems are updated accordingly.
  • Assists Regional Head as required in project and other management.
