Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Test Engineer in Heath, OH (35 minutes east of Columbus, OH) to conduct development and overhaul of re-design strategies, that effect both hardware and software, for test equipment used in the mechanical and electronics testing of U.S. Strategic Deterrence Systems for the U.S. Air Force Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Guidance Systems, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy Guidance Systems, and other military programs. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
• 1+ years of manufacturing, production, or electrical/instrumentation engineering experience
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

• Proven record of either developing or executing test plans or test procedures
• Test software development and/or support experience using LabVIEW and/or Microsoft Visual Studio, or other comparable programming languages
• Laboratory testing, data analysis, instrumentation, system integration, or manufacturing (specifically assembly, integration, and test) experience
• Government or DoD program experience

Responsibilities

• Support a project management-based gated process using the phase-gate process
• Assist in the interpretation, analysis, and development of engineering data (blueprints, data sets, specification, logic diagrams, electrical circuit schematics, etc.) to support requirements
• Assist in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods
• Develop test procedures and the instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform each test and minimize risk
• Design component and sub-assembly level hardware or software, and use analytical tools to verify design
• Assist in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of internally overhauled or third party-procured test hardware
• Identify solutions to basic problems and support the development of metrology processes, methods, and tools
• Assist in evaluating test performance data for accuracy, quality, or fidelity. Alert senior engineers of off-nominal data and prepare test reports for review prior to delivery to customer
• Assist in the development of test debrief material
• Collaborate with program management, design authority engineering groups, operations, and government customer counterparts
• As assemblies, instruments, cables, and interfaces are replaced due to obsolescence, additional engineering responsibilities will include creating or revising and reviewing drawings and documents and conducting test and qualification of the overhauled test equipment
