Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in operating a computer - including the ability to operate a mouse, pull a file and demonstrate ability to learn new basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in basis math skills such as able to count, handle numbers, add and subtract.
  • Must have good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and understand SOPs and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running a laser, laser/ink jet or E.I.D. marking station to mark Livestock Identification tags as per SOP, labeling and packaging product.
  • Able to understand and comply with Company’s procedures with regards to Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Ensures that all production line workstations tasks are being performed in an efficient manner on a timely basis with the desired quality.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all packaging is available and correct.
  • Train new employees in a buddy system training operation to perform tasks at all levels below The level for which the laser operator has been qualified.
  • Responsible for recording downtime accurately.
  • Accomplish the marking of Livestock Identifications tags which meet engineering and customer requirements.
  • Follows established conduct, procedures, and safety rules for the area.
  • Watch for and take prompt action, including shutting down the workstation temporarily, when operational malfunctions are seen which could jeopardize the quality of the tags being produced.
  • When the workstation is shut down, prompt action will be taken to secure help in correcting the malfunction and getting the workstation back up and running in the shortest time possible.
  • Uses equipment in the area properly, reports any malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintains housekeeping area assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Be able to maintain a required and acceptable daily output as determined by the job and machine worked on.
