Requirements

  • Job experience will be considered in place of High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in English (ability to read, write and speak fluently)
  • The ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment
  • Depth perception, use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity
  • The ability to handle multiple requests effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • The ability to follow directions

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and assembling the lenses on the baskets
  • Continuously supplying the machines with product
  • Inspecting the lenses by following established procedures
  • Careful handling of lens to avoid scratches
  • Sort lenses onto rack by size and required coating
  • Inspecting baskets and hangers for good condition before use
  • Clipping lenses securely and correctly onto basket
  • Inspect bifocal lens for correctness before putting into machine
  • Load and Empty baskets from machine as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of deionized water bath
  • Cleaning machine with proper personal protective equipment
  • Verify the lenses match prescription after training
  • Visually inspecting lens for quality, using Essilor tolerance chart and record information
  • Transfer lenses from baskets onto trays for oven to cure
  • Separate rejected from approved lenses for rework according to protocol
  • Use a barcode reader to scan prescription to track the jobs
  • Inform team leader of non-conformities
  • Meeting physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing. Lifting heavy objects between 10-15 lbs. and handling chemicals. Operating tools and wearing PPE.
  • Assist within the operations department as needed
