About The Position

With over $230B in client assets across direct index and active investment strategies, SMA Solutions is a rapidly growing business within USWA (~10% org growth rate). Our personalized portfolios utilize individual securities, BlackRock Mutual Funds, and iShares ETFs to customize, diversify, and tailor investment solutions to high net worth/ultra-high net worth, mass affluent, and institutional clients. We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager to support the delivery of crossfunctional, product and platform focused initiatives critical to the growth and operational excellence of our core products and services. This role is ideal for someone who is a problem-solver, executionoriented, technically fluent, and comfortable operating in complex technology and business domains. You will work closely with engineering, product, and crossfunctional partners to help move initiatives from planning through execution. You will play a meaningful role in driving progress, maintaining alignment, and ensuring teams have the structure and visibility they need to deliver.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience working with product and engineering teams in a technical program management, project management, software development, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience coordinating crossfunctional work with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
  • Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Airtable, and AI-enabled tools used throughout the planning and delivery phases of projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software development practices, languages and frameworks
  • Experience working in wealth management, financial services or other regulated industries

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive cross-functional technical and product initiatives through planning, execution, delivery, and postlaunch follow-up
  • Provide hands-on project support across the software development lifecycle, including planning, dependency tracking, progress monitoring, risk identification, incident management, and stakeholder communications
  • Partner with engineering, product, and operations to maintain strong collaboration and clear communication across teams
  • Help manage timelines, dependencies, and competing priorities across multiple teams and initiatives
  • Instrument and monitor program health using metrics and derived insights
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives for one or more teams
  • Contribute to improving processes, documentation, and workflows to increase execution speed, visibility, and team effectiveness
  • Use tooling, automation, and AIassisted workflows where appropriate to support planning, reporting, and documentation
