About The Position

Alma del Mar is a K-8 charter school focused on preparing scholars for college and developing them into service-minded leaders. The Associate Teacher role is designed for individuals new to teaching, offering hands-on experience, a pathway to becoming a lead teacher, and collaboration with experienced Lead Teachers. Associate Teachers will gradually take on more responsibility for lesson planning and teaching, supported by ongoing professional development, feedback, and coaching. Specific content areas and instructional roles will vary based on school needs and team approaches.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as part of a grade-level team.
  • Work in collaboration with and under the guidance of experienced Lead Teachers.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for lesson planning and lead teaching as the year progresses.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Receive frequent, targeted feedback and coaching.
