Associate Teacher (English) - Kindergarten

Requirements
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in Kindergarten
- Solid understanding of early literacy and math pedagogy and instruction
- Deep dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching
- Superb ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals
- Curiosity and humility, to reflect, welcome feedback, and continually grow in teaching practice
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ease in effectively prioritizing multiple tasks and competing demands
Nice To Haves
- Master’s candidates in early childhood or bilingual education strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging, creative curriculum and lessons, aligned with Avenues' expectations and approach
- Lead English literacy curriculum, including phonics curriculum, differentiated reading groups, and writing units of study
- Co-plan mathematics instruction with head teacher and lead English mathematics lessons and student work centers
- Collaborate closely with a team of English, Spanish, and Chinese immersion teachers to continually improve student learning and school culture
- Conduct formal and informal assessments and analyze student data to inform instruction
- Participate actively in ongoing professional learning
- Help to build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a joyful community
