Associate - Tax (Energy & Infrastructure)
About The Position
Our AmLaw 100 client is looking to add a tax associate to its Energy & Infrastructure team. This group sits at the center of the energy transition and structures some of the most sophisticated power and renewable transactions in the market. If you want real exposure to tax equity, credit transfers, and headline energy deals, this is worth a look. This is a nationally recognized tax platform with deep roots in federal tax policy and a strong bench of former government lawyers. The energy practice consistently handles first-of-their-kind renewable structures and complex cross-border investments. You will not be siloed. The team is lean, collaborative, and expects associates to engage directly with clients early. If you are in a tax group but not getting meaningful exposure to energy transition work, this is a strategic move.
Requirements
- 2+ years of transactional tax experience
- Experience with partnership structures and tax equity documentation
- Comfortable taking ownership of discrete workstreams
Nice To Haves
- Background in energy, infrastructure, or project finance tax is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Structuring and negotiating tax equity transactions
- Drafting tax provisions in partnership agreements, credit agreements, and purchase agreements
- Advising on tax credit transfers and joint ventures
- Navigating partnership tax rules in complex project structures
