The company's primary focus is ensuring reliable, clean, and affordable energy delivery 24/7. This entry-level Control Room position involves learning and mastering the tasks required for safe electric grid operation as outlined in the Electric Control Center Manual (ECCM). Within the first 12 months, the Associate System Operator will train to obtain an HVD or LVD certification. Upon certification, they will independently monitor, analyze, and control the electric grid, ensuring system reliability and timely customer restoration in compliance with ECCM procedures, NERC standards, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing High Voltage Distribution (HVD) and Low Voltage Distribution (LVD) Substations and Lines, the Metro Underground Distribution Network, Grid Automation Schemes, and interconnections with Generation and Transmission providers under both normal and emergency conditions. The role also involves administering switching and tagging orders and issuing worker conditions, clearances, and protections according to the ECCM, utilizing SCADA systems for remote monitoring, analysis, and control. A 36-month commitment period is required due to the extensive training involved, during which internal job applications are restricted.
