About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. IT Manager, the IT Associate Systems Engineer supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of WarHorse Gaming, LLC infrastructure. This role works closely with senior engineers to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across enterprise environments.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or MCSE
  • Minimum of 3 years of systems engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, VMware, and Microsoft Windows Server
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS permissions, and certificate management
  • Exposure to high availability (HA) and fault tolerance (FT) concepts
  • Basic knowledge of enterprise storage and backup solutions
  • Experience with PowerShell, Batch, or similar scripting tools
  • Understanding of Windows patching processes
  • Awareness of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with storage technologies (NFS, fiber-channel, object storage)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License

Responsibilities

  • Support and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming, LLC
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and system software
  • Monitor system performance and report anomalies to senior engineering staff
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware and software issues under guidance
  • Participate in system testing, validation, and quality assurance processes
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve user-reported technical issues
  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software assets
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes, including documentation
  • Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure issues and escalate complex problems as needed
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including runbooks, procedures, and diagrams
  • Assist with scripting (PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency
  • Support storage systems and virtual machine (VM) environments under supervision
  • Maintain system configuration and service documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
