About The Position

We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to provide technical support and assist in the administration of the company's technology environment. This position serves as a key member of the IT team, supporting end users, maintaining endpoint devices, assisting with Microsoft 365 administration, and helping ensure the stability and security of business systems. This position is designed for someone looking to build a career in systems administration and cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will receive mentoring from senior IT leadership and opportunities to develop expertise across Microsoft technologies, cybersecurity, automation, and enterprise infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or junior systems administration role.
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 desktop operating systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Entra ID administration, including user accounts, mailbox management, and license assignment.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory user and group administration.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity while maintaining sound technical judgment and adherence to organizational security and data governance requirements.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless networking.
  • Experience supporting printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple support requests.
  • Customer-service oriented mindset with the ability to support users at all organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) certification.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory environments.
  • Experience with endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune and Manage Engine Endpoint Central.
  • Experience supporting VoIP phone systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Basic experience developing or modifying PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
  • Experience supporting collaboration platforms such as Zoom
  • Experience working within a regulated or compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications.
  • Install, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and other end-user equipment.
  • Provision and deprovision of user accounts, including password resets, account unlocks, and group membership updates.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 user administration, including mailbox creation, license assignment, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support Active Directory administration under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Leverage approved AI and automation tools to assist with technical research, issue resolution, documentation creation, script development, and administrative tasks under the guidance of senior IT staff.
  • Configure and troubleshoot printers, scanners, copiers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Perform workstation imaging, software deployments, and device replacements.
  • Monitor and respond to help desk tickets, documenting resolutions and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assist with endpoint patching and software update deployments.
  • Maintain IT asset inventories and equipment lifecycle records.
  • Create and update technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support conference room technology, VoIP phones, and audio/video equipment.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation setup and account provisioning.
  • Perform routine system checks and report anomalies to senior administrators.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure projects including hardware refreshes, cloud migrations, system upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, and technology implementations.
