The Parenteral Supply Chain organization has responsibility for scheduling the manufacturing processes for Dispensing, Formulation, Filling, and Inspection. The Planner is a key contact for all technical planning information in the area and is the key link for all functions in the plant and in the broader supply chain for scheduling updates and issue resolution. The Planner role provides planning and scheduling support for the Indianapolis Parenteral Plant organization. They are responsible for inventory management of manufacturing supplies, semi‑finished and finished products through capacity management of all work centers in the given area. Their focus is translating demand forecasts (commercial & development) into the master schedule (planned in monthly and weekly buckets) and preparing the monthly S&OP (Sales and Operations Plan) in order to align all site production‑related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other technical fields
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Production Planning

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices (workspace compliance and use of ergonomic equipment)
  • Maintain a state of compliance (learning plan, SOP adherence, etc.)
  • Align and optimize both short‑ and long‑term production plans with manufacturing capacity constraints to drive production to inventory targets for semi‑finished and finished materials
  • Prepare and present the plant S&OP (Sales and Operations Plan) at lead team meetings
  • Convert the production plan to a master shop floor schedule
  • Work with operations to resolve capacity challenges and unplanned production issues
  • Serve as the general hub for all schedule‑related communication in the flow team; represent logistics at flow and process teams as required
  • Work with API suppliers and buyers to ensure API, component, and excipient availability to meet the plan
  • Generate, analyze, and report plant capacity analysis
  • Network with all stakeholders to ensure the production plan is achievable
  • Work with upstream and downstream planners and global supply chain resources as necessary to align plans; collaborate with other planners to trade off resources as needed
  • Integrate alternate demand into the production schedule to meet site needs
  • Generate OSSCE (Operational Standards for Supply Chain) metrics
  • Work with stakeholders to improve plant supply chain processes and performance, ensuring cycle time targets are met and exceeded.
  • Help set up data in SAP as necessary; ensure data is maintained accurately (recipes, standards, etc.)
