About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer to join their team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will be supporting the Huntsville Design Center in Alabama. The role involves developing, integrating, and documenting structural requirements, coordinating with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment, and guiding product design. The engineer will verify structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance. Responsibilities also include developing test plans, supporting test execution, analyzing test results, and defining/documenting certification and test results. The role also supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. This position works under general direction and is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Typically, 2 or more years' related work experience.
  • This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years experience in aerospace stress analysis
  • 2+ years experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with Fatigue or Durability Analysis

Responsibilities

  • Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
