Join us and put your passion, determination, and skill to work building the future! #TheFutureIsBuiltHere #ChangeTheWorld Boeing Global Services (BGS) is hiring a Structural Stress Analysis Engineer (Associate) to work at the Long Beach, CA Design Center as primary and secondary structures stress analyst for airplane production & airplane post-production modifications. As a level 2 engineer you will possess a good grasp of airplane structural analysis methods and tools for both metallic and/or composite structures. Under general direction, you will ensure the airplane has sufficient strength to endure all conditions encountered during its operational life. The analyst also ensures the airplane structure meets all other design requirements including fail-safety, durability and damage tolerance where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Structural Engineering degrees
  • 2+ years related work experience in structural/stress analysis
  • Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • ABET-accredited or equivalent engineering degree
  • Familiarity with composite structure
  • Familiarity with stress analysis of primary and secondary structure.

Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development
  • Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with some direction
  • Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external)
  • Works under general direction
