About The Position

Walton Enterprises is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial individual to join the Philanthropic Initiatives team as an Associate, Strategy & Impact. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, helping bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a diverse portfolio of philanthropic work. The Associate will improve visibility across funding activity, strengthen coordination across workstreams, and support the development of high-quality materials for leadership and family stakeholders. The Associate works across multiple philanthropic workstreams and funding vehicles. Operating in a fast-moving and often ambiguous environment, this role partners closely with senior team members while taking ownership of discrete components of work. The Associate is expected to bring structure to complex efforts, connect information across initiatives, and help ensure that priorities translate into clear plans, consistent tracking, and reliable follow-through.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2–5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, operations, philanthropy, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure ambiguous information into clear outputs
  • Excellent written communication and synthesis skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfort working with data and reporting tools
  • Ability to work across teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Acts with humility and discretion; prioritizes team and institutional goals over personal credit
  • Builds trust through reliability, strong judgment, and professionalism
  • Communicates clearly and navigates complex dynamics with awareness and respect
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity; brings structure and clarity to complex work
  • Willing to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and raise issues when needed

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze philanthropic activity across multiple funding sources and grantmaking portfolios; identify trends, gaps, and risks to support oversight and decision-making
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and recurring analyses to improve visibility and planning
  • Support execution of key philanthropic initiatives in partnership with initiative leads
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across projects
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support progress and follow-through
  • Draft memos, briefings, and updates for family and leadership audiences
  • Synthesize inputs across workstreams into clear, concise materials
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of communications
  • Work across Philanthropic Initiatives, Grants Management, Accounting, Legal, and other partners
  • Provide flexible support across workstreams based on evolving team priorities
  • Occasionally provide time-bound program support on grantmaking portfolios
