Associate Design Project Manager / Staff Design Project Manager This position is posted at two levels; there is 1 position. It will be filled at the level that commensurate with the successful candidate's applicable skills and experience. As a Design Project Manager, you’ll provide transmission and distribution project management expertise with construction designs and customer connections. As such, you will serve as primary liaison from first contact to final closing on projects. This is for a position on the Beaverton Line Design Team as a Design Project Manager at the Associate or Staff level. In this position you will be responsible for designing customer-facing projects. These projects may consist of single home services, small commercial, large commercial and subdivisions. What you’ll bring to the team: Experience in utility operations or a related field is required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, computer-assisted design or other related field or equivalent experience. Typically, three or more years of relevant education and experience for the Associate Design Project Manager level. Five or more years for the Staff Design Project Manager level.

Requirements

  • Experience in utility operations or a related field is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, computer-assisted design or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically, three or more years of relevant education and experience for the Associate Design Project Manager level.
  • Five or more years for the Staff Design Project Manager level.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving practices.
  • Working knowledge and application of all company standards and tariffs, company policy, applicable codes and local jurisdiction requirements.
  • Working knowledge of common engineering concepts and principles.
  • Intermediate knowledge of PGE’s electrical system.
  • Intermediate knowledge of transmission and distribution standards and practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Working skills in using computer design tools, including structural analysis, electric analysis, work management and GIS.
  • Intermediate ability to apply engineering and design concepts, PGE and industry standards and governing codes.
  • Working ability to use project management concepts and skills in planning and executing projects.
  • Working ability to effectively plan, organize, design, coordinate and manage multiple projects with changing timelines at different stages of the connection process.
  • Working ability to work collaboratively in a teamwork environment with internal customers.
