About The Position

The Associate Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes. This role is ideal for someone detail‑oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within an accounting function. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required with sufficient experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience (internships or academic experience welcome)
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices
  • Self‑directed, highly motivated, and proactive in taking initiative
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and eagerness to learn
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to develop, manipulate, and maintain spreadsheets
  • An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities to support timely financial reporting
  • Generate intercompany and intergroup manual invoices for shared services
  • Assist in the documentation of Japan Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) internal controls
  • Participate in special projects and cross‑functional initiatives as assigned
