About The Position

The Associate Software Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of software applications that enhance and improve Facilities Management operations across the institution. This position assists in analyzing departmental workflows, identifying opportunities for technological improvement, and building custom applications that address specific operational needs. Under the guidance of senior team members, the Associate SAE will help create and maintain connections between facilities management systems, enterprise applications, and building automation platforms to support a cohesive technology ecosystem. Working collaboratively with facilities management staff, campus stakeholders, and the FM Technology team, this role supports the development and maintenance of technology solutions that address a broad range of operational needs across the department. The Associate SAE will adhere to institutional standards and industry requirements while contributing to initiatives that improve efficiency and service delivery. This position plays an important supporting role in advancing the department's digital transformation efforts across campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, CIS, or a closely related technical field; from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education or facilities management environments
  • 1 year of experience in software development
  • Knowledge of facilities management systems and technologies
  • Experience with mobile application development
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Experience working with CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Familiarity with repository management practices and tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
