About The Position

The Associate, Settlements role at Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Dallas, Texas, involves monitoring and reconciling payment flows daily, investigating and actioning payment exceptions, and performing day-to-day approvals in various payment systems or journals. The position requires performing daily bank NOSTRO reconciliation and resolving discrepancies, partnering with third-party processors, vendors, and technology teams to address issues, and identifying and mitigating payment clearing and settlement risks. The role also includes understanding key risks and controls of payment flows, proposing and executing solutions, and working collaboratively within a team to complete daily production tasks. Additionally, the Associate will provide training to new team members, lead continuous improvement initiatives, develop requirements for enhancing payment capabilities, and perform user acceptance testing. Participation in cross-functional projects, staying updated on the payments landscape, rules, regulations, and network rules, and involvement in internal/external audits and quality assurance testing are also key aspects. The role requires partnering with Product, Engineering, and Risk teams for the design and implementation of new payment rails and enablers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with: handling payment settlements via various payment schemes, such as Automated Clearinghouse (ACH), checks, Fedwire, RTP, or SWIFT.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with: working with U.S. payment system or rails, such as ACH, checks, Fedwire, or RTP.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with: payment network operating rules and regulations such as FRB, National Automated Clearinghouse Association (NACHA), ECCHO, or CHIPS.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with: knowledge of payment formats such as ACH, ISO 20022, or SWIFT.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years with: treasury operations experience at a Global Systemically Important Bank (G-SIB).

Responsibilities
