About The Position

RCLCO Real Estate Consulting is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate for its Management Consulting team. This role involves providing strategic and tactical advice to real estate developers, investors, public institutions, and other companies. The team leverages quantitative analytics and strategic planning to offer end-to-end business planning and implementation solutions. The Management Consulting team works with real estate companies across all geographies, sectors, and stages of growth, developing deep understanding of industry players, capital markets, market analysis, and organizational structures. Client engagements offer opportunities to analyze organizations, think creatively about future possibilities, and address complex real-world issues. The team utilizes RCLCO's resources and extensive history in the real estate sector to provide unique insights. Engagement areas include Strategic Planning, Portfolio Strategy, Capital Strategy, Organizational Strategy, Compensation Consulting, and Executive Search.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a mix of quantitative and qualitative coursework
  • 2-5+ years of experience in an analytical role within the real estate industry
  • Strong academic record
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional attitude; self-starter; dependable team player
  • Curious about and interested in the built environment, real estate, and land use
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Analytical thinker with social savvy
  • Passionate about research, analysis, and problem-solving
  • Pays attention to details and cares about the accuracy of work

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of or interest in learning additional analytical methods and software programs, such as advanced Excel functions, GIS, R, Tableau, or AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Work with a project director to establish and maintain relationships with client stakeholders; provide regular updates to the client team on project status
  • Gather and organize data, analyze trends, and construct financial models; develop hypotheses and test them through existing or bespoke methodologies
  • Participate in discovery interviews with client stakeholders to understand an organization’s context and strategic issues
  • Synthesize findings from client data and interviews to frame up key strategic issues
  • Think critically to assess strategic alternatives
  • Prepare presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to clients
  • Track project scope, schedule, and budget as the project manager or in conjunction with the project manager
  • Develop, incorporate, and expand RCLCO’s current research methodologies to elevate the quality of deliverables
  • Support internal firm initiatives as needed, including business development and intellectual property production
