About The Position

The Associate Security Analyst-IT provides support for Baker Group security systems, helps protect company data and systems from cyber-attacks, and assists with setting up and maintaining security standards. The role continuously monitors alerts and researches new threats and countermeasures, and performs related work as required.

The position defends Baker Group systems against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction; configures and supports security tools; implements and maintains security policies and safeguards; trains employees in security awareness; provides technical security advice; reviews incident response and disaster recovery plans; and assists with general IT support as needed.

Requirements

• Pursuing or completion of a two-year degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field.
• One year of experience in information security, IT operations, or a related field; internship and lab/home-lab experience are considered.
• Foundational understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and VPN.
• Basic familiarity with security concepts, including malware, phishing, vulnerability management, and access control.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask while remaining thorough and detail-oriented.
• Solid work history, including excellent attendance and a superior work ethic.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Passion for technology and a strong desire to work with new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Defend Baker Group systems against unauthorized access, modification, and destruction.
• Configure and support security tools, including firewalls, anti-malware software, and patch management systems.
• Implement and maintain network security policies, application security, access control, and corporate data safeguards.
• Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures.
• Provide technical security advice.
• Review incident response and disaster recovery plans for gaps or needed updates.
• Assist with general IT support as needed.
• Continuously monitor alerts and research new threats and countermeasures.
