About The Position

What you will be doing: Administer and monitor security tools, endpoint protection, email security, vulnerability management, and identity and access management platforms. Perform user access provisioning, modification, and deprovisioning in accordance with requirements. Review and respond to security alerts, escalating incidents based on established procedures. Perform regular vulnerability scans, assess findings, identify false positives, coordinate remediation, and validate fixes. Maintain security configurations for systems, applications, and cloud environments under guidance. Provide security support to employees and contractors, including access requests and phishing investigations. Monitor server logs, firewall logs, and network traffic to detect, analyze, and respond to suspicious activities and potential threats. Assist with investigation, documentation and resolution of security incidents and potential breaches. Collect logs, evidence, and metrics related to security events. Support internal audit activities by gathering evidence and maintaining documentation for security controls. Support vendor risk assessments and third-party security reviews. Assist in coordinating and administering company-wide security awareness training, testing, and phishing simulations. Assist in maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and control effectiveness. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant internships, coursework, or equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • 1-3years of experience in IT, security operations, systems administration, or a related role.
  • Some experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industry required.
  • Foundational knowledge of security frameworks, tools, and best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), endpoint detection and response (EDR), intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability management, patching, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
  • Some exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, etc).
  • Familiarity with phishing prevention and analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical security concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulatory or compliance frameworks a plus.
  • Entry-level certifications preferred (CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc).
