About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Security Administrator is responsible for assisting security leadership with the overall operation and supervision of the Security Department and security staff, and will assist in the development, education, training and implementation of security policies, procedures and strategies to ensure the protection of patients, visitors, staff, property, buildings and grounds. The Security Administrator is responsible for the direct supervision of the Security Department’s team members to included but not limited to scheduling, time and attendance, corrective actions, education, training, and ensuring the compliance of GBMC Security Department policies, procedures and practices. The Security Administrator is responsible for assisting GBMC Security Officer 3’s who have direct supervision of a shift with shift operations and/or administrative issues. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: 5 years of security, corrections, law enforcement, military experience is preferred Skills: In depth knowledge and experience of security procedures, criminal law, and surveillance equipment Must be willing and able to work unscheduled hours based on the needs of the department Must be able to read, understand, implement and execute GBMC Security strategies as depicted in the GBMC Security policies, procedures, practices Crisis intervention training and experience Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills Remain flexible to ever changing environments; adapt well to different situations Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites Ability to handle both common and crisis situations, calmly and efficiently Licensures, Certifications: Current State Driver’s License which must be maintained throughout employment Current CPR certification that must be maintained throughout employment EMTALA training is required and must be successfully completed within the new hire probationary period prior to the employee working independently. GBMC Workplace Violence Prevention Training is required and must be completed within the new hire period, prior to the employee working independently

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of security, corrections, law enforcement, military experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with department leaders to determine security needs and solutions
  • Recruitment of security department applicants
  • Conduct investigations in support and collaboration with Legal, Human Resources, Employee Health Services, and department leaders
  • Maintain training and education compliance of all security department members in accordance to The Joint Commission and CMS standards
  • Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property
  • Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
  • Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both patients, visitors and staff.
  • Answer questions and assist patients’ staff and visitors
  • Answer phones or greet patients, staff, visitors / employees in a professional, welcoming manner
