About The Position

Evaluation Systems of Pearson offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. Our custom teacher licensure testing programs are 100 percent aligned to state standards. We also provide a wide variety of teacher licensure testing services such as test development, administration, and scoring. We work in a collaborative environment and are passionate about education. Scoring offers the opportunity to network with other professionals and stay abreast of the latest developments in your field. Scorers have a direct impact on the quality of the next generation of teachers and help to maintain professional standards. We have immediate openings for candidates to score the subjects below remotely for our Hadley, MA office: English 6-12, Middle Grade English 5-9.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher
• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have five (5) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for
• Hold or have held a position at a college, university or a community college in the same subject area that they will be scoring and have at least 5 years of teaching experience in the same subject area you will be scoring
• All scorers must be approved to score by the Florida Department of Education.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse)
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
• Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Florida teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in scoring activities
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring

Benefits

• Starting rate of $17.50 per hour
