The Protein Homeostasis Thematic Research Center (TRC) at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a fundamental Oncology research engine focused on discovering and developing therapeutics for oncology and hematology. The TRC leverages BMS' expertise in protein degradation to target tumor-intrinsic vulnerabilities and resistance mechanisms, aiming to address previously undruggable protein classes. The Pharmacology group within the TRC in San Diego supports discovery teams by providing in vivo pharmacology for small and large molecules in oncology and immune-oncology. This includes supporting lead identification through in vivo model screening and mechanism-of-action studies, developing and validating animal disease models, identifying pathway biomarkers, and establishing clinically relevant endpoints. Collaboration with DMPK, Exploratory Toxicology, and Translational Development is key, and the group contributes preclinical data to inform clinical development plans.
