Requirements

  • Requires a PhD in Translational Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacology, or a related Biomedical Science field.
  • Has at least 5 years of experience in rheumatology research
  • Familiarity and proficiency with computer-based programs such as RedCAP, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
  • Expertise in biobanking, molecular biology, genomics, and advanced laboratory techniques.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, GCP (Good Clinical Practice), and bioethics.
  • project management, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer skills, proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in clinical research setting necessary

Responsibilities

  • Translational Research: Bridging clinical applications to bench research.
  • Sample Processing & Analysis: Process human tissues, blood, or body fluids (e.g., cell separation, DNA/RNA extraction, flow cytometry).
  • Data Management & Documentation: Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, manage data in electronic systems (e.g., LIMS), and analyze results.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Utilize bioinformatics and informatics to analyze laboratory data and identify trends.
  • Experimental Design: Design and execute in-vitro/in-vivo studies to evaluate data and validate new findings.
  • Experimental Execution: Perform molecular biology and cellular techniques, including PCR, genotyping, western blots, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture.
  • Compliance & Operations: Directing lab operations in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Scientific Communication: Publishing results in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and securing grant funding.
  • Lab Operations & Compliance: Maintain laboratory equipment (calibrating centrifuges, freezers, etc.), manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure compliance with safety, GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), and IRB protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work with clinicians, pharmacists, clinical staff to handle patient samples and report results, and assist in preparing data for grants or publications.
