About The Position

The Associate Scientist develops proficiency in all aspects and functions of NWF product development. This includes developing, duplicating, and cost-reducing seasonings and/or coatings to meet customer needs. The role includes completing training, following research and development standards and procedures, building product and ingredient knowledge, and developing account responsibility.

The Associate Scientist works with internal and external customers, vendors, and suppliers, maintains accurate project and product records, passes internal audits, and contributes to team collaboration. The position is based in a general office setting, with periodic exposure to loud environments; airborne particles and strong odors associated with spicy food ingredients; cold, hot, wet, and humid conditions; walking and standing on concrete; climbing steps or ladders; and standing on elevated surfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• General knowledge of MS Office, AS400, and Lotus Notes.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of NWF training.
• Follow R&D standards and maintain NWF procedures.
• Develop proficiency in developing and duplicating products.
• Begin independent account responsibility.
• Develop positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Develop knowledge of ingredient functionality.
• Build and maintain working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Maintain accurate project and product records.
• Pass internal audits.
• Display team focus and collaboration.
• Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
