The Role: We are seeking a motivated and creative scientist or engineer who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. If you’re excited by new challenges, solving complex problems, and learning every step of the way, you might just be the perfect fit. As a member of the downstream process design team, you will join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to develop purification processes for low-cost mammalian derived antibody biotherapeutic manufacturing. Process design at Just-Evotec means exposure to innovative technologies like high throughput automated robotic screening and continuous processing technologies for a first-of-its-kind flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing facility. Requirements

A curious problem-solver with a passion for learning and growing in a dynamic environment.
BS/BA degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field and 0 -2 years of relevant laboratory experience
Excellent experimental design and analysis skills, ideally including manipulation and presentation using JMP or equivalent statistical analysis software
Experience with chromatography operations including using AKTA systems
Familiar with mammalian derived downstream purification development, resin modalities (affinity, IEX, MM, HIC) and chromatography purification theory
Experience with filtration operation including executing bench-scale dead-end filtration, viral filtration, UF/DF, and depth filtration
Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and analysis using statistical software packages
Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to share complex ideas in a simple, relatable way.

Responsibilities

Dive deep into purification process development for biotherapeutics, always looking for ways to improve and innovate.
Accurately and consistently record laboratory work in electronic lab notebooks and paper batch records
Compound purification buffers and solutions, assemble and pack chromatography column hardware
Operate AKTA Avant & Pure systems using Unicorn software, Pendotech four-channel NFF automated data collection systems, TECAN high throughput liquid handlers, and Repligen automated TFF systems
Analytical results analysis from chromatography and filtration operations, organization and presentation of data, and report writing
Support the transfer processes to manufacturing facilities
Technology development to expand platform capabilities, reduce cost, and improve the efficiency of purification processes
Regularly share your findings, ideas, and solutions in both team settings and presentations.
