About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Scientist to support and expand our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) operations. This role will be instrumental in onboarding new services, developing and optimizing workflows, and supporting day-to-day NGS laboratory activities, particularly in library preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically strong in NGS methods, and excited to drive process improvements in a dynamic lab environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in an NGS laboratory environment
  • Strong expertise in NGS library preparation techniques (e.g., WGS, RNA-seq, targeted panels, etc.)
  • Experience in workflow optimization, assay development, or process improvement
  • Familiarity with sequencing platforms (e.g., Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on-boarding new assays or services in a clinical or commercial lab setting
  • Knowledge of quality systems (CLIA, CAP, GLP, or similar)
  • Exposure to automation platforms for library preparation
  • Basic understanding of NGS bioinformatic analysis workflows

Responsibilities

  • Lead the onboarding of new NGS service offerings, including workflow design, validation, and implementation
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot NGS library preparation protocols across multiple platforms and applications
  • Execute daily NGS lab operations, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and high-quality outputs
  • Evaluate and improve existing workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and turnaround time
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with bioinformatics, operations, and quality teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Document SOPs, validation reports, and process updates in compliance with quality standards
  • Train and mentor lab staff on new workflows and best practices
